Hire silent disco headsets from $150 a box of 25, collect them charged and ready from Mount Eliza, and run up to three music channels on the night. Everyone dances to the same beat through wireless LED headphones — loud in the headsets, quiet in the room — so the party goes late without a noise complaint.

What you need for a silent disco

• Headsets — hired by the box of 25. Most parties use one or two boxes; larger quantities are available on request.
• One transmitter, required — it broadcasts your music to every headset. Add a second or third transmitter for extra channels.
• Your music — a phone, laptop or DJ setup. Connect it to the transmitter by Bluetooth or audio cable.
• Optional — a microphone for speeches and games, party lighting, and powered speakers if part of the night is a normal disco.

Before you book

How many headsets do I need?

One per guest who will dance, and most hosts round up. 25–50 headsets (one or two boxes) suits most house parties, hens nights and birthdays. For more than two boxes, or a school or corporate event, send your date and numbers through the enquiry form and we will confirm what is available.

How much does it cost?

A box of 25 headsets is $150 for an overnight hire and a transmitter is $15. A typical 40-guest party is two boxes and one transmitter: $315. Lighting starts at $15 and a pair of 12-inch powered speakers is $90. Every price is shown on the product page before you add it to your cart, and the total is shown before checkout.

Do I need a transmitter?

Yes — at least one with any headset hire. One transmitter covers every box booked for the same dates. Add up to three to run up to three music channels.

How many channels can I run?

Up to three, one transmitter per channel. Guests press a button on the headset to switch between them — three playlists, two DJs and a chill-out channel, or a kids' channel alongside the adults'.

Can I play my own music?

Yes. Anything that plays audio works: a phone, a laptop, a DJ controller. Connect by Bluetooth or by audio cable into the transmitter. If you use Bluetooth, connect one music device to each transmitter.

How do I book?

Choose your hire date on the product page, add the headsets and a transmitter to your cart, and pay online. Availability is checked for your date before you can add anything.

Collecting and setting up

How do I get the gear?

Pickup from Mount Eliza is standard and free — self-serve, 24 hours a day. The exact address and collection instructions, and a gate code if one is needed, are sent once your booking is confirmed. Rosebud pickup is also free but by appointment only: it is arranged after your booking is confirmed and must be confirmed by us in writing — until then, pickup is Mount Eliza. Delivery and collection can sometimes be arranged in advance; the minimum is $100 each way and the final price depends on your hire, so ask when you book.

How long does setup take?

About five minutes. Plug in the transmitter, connect your music, switch on the headsets. Everything arrives charged and ready. Our setup guides walk through it with video.

What is in the box?

25 LED headsets in a carry box, the transmitter you booked, and a one-page setup guide. Everything arrives charged, so chargers are not included for an overnight hire; they are supplied for multi-night bookings.

Does the transmitter need power?

No. The transmitter is portable and battery-powered, and arrives charged, so it can sit wherever the music is.

On the night

How far does the signal reach?

Up to 300 metres in the open with a clear line of sight. Indoors it works through most internal walls and across a two-storey house, so a standard property is comfortably covered. Concrete walls and basements can block it.

How long do the headsets last?

About 8 hours on a charge, and they arrive fully charged — more than a night's dancing.

Can guests control their own volume?

Yes. Each headset has its own volume and channel control, so a guest who wants it quieter just turns theirs down.

Does it work outdoors?

Yes, backyards are fine. None of the equipment is waterproof, so keep the transmitter and headsets out of rain and heavy dew.

Is it suitable for kids?

Yes — the headsets fit children, and a kids' channel on its own transmitter works well for mixed-age parties.

Can I use lighting and speakers as well?

Yes. Party lighting and speaker hire are booked the same way for the same date and collected together.

Returning and changing your booking

When do I return it?

At the end of the agreed hire period, complete, switched off and packed as you received it. Running late? Just let us know — we are flexible where we can be.

What if something is lost or damaged?

Fair wear and tear is expected and never charged. Anything lost, not returned or damaged beyond repair is charged at replacement cost: $80 per headset and $40 per transmitter; other equipment at the current price of the same or closest model. Full terms are in our refund and cancellation policy.

Can I change my date or cancel?

More than 3 days before your hire date, you can move your booking to another available date at no charge, or cancel for a full refund less a 10% administration fee. Inside 3 days, cancellations become store credit for the full amount, valid for 12 months, and moving the date depends on whether the equipment is already booked. If we cannot supply what you booked, you get a full refund or a replacement — your choice. None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
