Terms of Service
These terms apply when you hire equipment from Simple Entertainment.
Placing an order means you accept them. If something here does not work
for your event, talk to us before you book.

1. Who can hire
You must be at least 18 years old and give us contact details we can
reach you on. We may ask for photo ID when you collect.
2. Booking and payment
Your booking is confirmed when payment is received. From that point the
equipment is held for you and taken off the calendar for other customers.
3. Hire period
The hire period is the one shown on your order. Pickup and return times
are agreed when you book. If you need the equipment longer, ask us before
the return time and we will extend it where we can, charged at the normal
rate.
4. Collection and return
Equipment is collected from Mount Eliza by arrangement. Rosebud
collection is available by request. Please return everything in the cases
and packaging it came in, with all accessories.
5. The equipment stays ours
All equipment remains the property of Simple Entertainment at all times.
You may not sell it, lend it, sub-hire it, or take it outside Victoria
without our written agreement.
6. Looking after it
While the equipment is with you, you are responsible for it. That means:
Keep it dry and out of the weather. None of it is waterproof.
Do not leave it unattended in a public place or in an unlocked vehicle.
Use it only for what it is designed for. Do not open, modify or repair
anything.
Plug it into normal power outlets. Do not overload leads or run cables
where people will trip.
Keep drinks away from the headsets, transmitters and microphones.
If something stops working, call us. Please do not try to fix it yourself.
7. Haze machines and fire alarms
Haze sets off smoke detectors. If you are hiring the haze machine, check
with your venue first and make sure the fire panel is isolated or the
venue is happy for haze to be used. False fire brigade callouts are
charged to whoever caused them, and that will be you rather than us.
8. Lasers
The party laser must never be aimed at anyone's eyes, at windows, at
roads, or into the sky. Keep the beam above head height and pointed into
the room. Do not use it outdoors where it could be seen by aircraft. If
you are not sure how to set it up safely, ask us and we will show you.
9. Noise, venues and permissions
You are responsible for getting whatever permission your venue, park,
council or body corporate requires, and for staying within local noise
restrictions and curfews. If your event is shut down for reasons outside
our control, the hire is not refundable.
10. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Covered in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these
terms.
11. Damage, loss and late returns
Also covered in the Refund and Cancellation Policy. In short: fair wear
and tear is never charged, anything lost or damaged beyond repair is
charged at replacement cost, and equipment returned late may be charged
an additional hire day.
12. If we cannot supply
If we cannot supply what you booked, we will offer you a replacement or a
full refund, whichever you prefer. Anything beyond that is covered by
section 13.
13. Your rights, and the limits of ours
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right you have
under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we limit it to
resupplying the equipment or refunding what you paid for it.
You are responsible for loss or damage caused by your own misuse of the
equipment, including claims made by other people arising from how it was
used at your event.
14. Insurance
We recommend checking whether your home contents, event or venue
insurance covers hired equipment while it is in your care. Equipment is
not insured by us once it leaves our hands.
15. Privacy
We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to
your hire is the one published when you placed your order.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
